Richard Childress
Music Director
Richard Childress has been the choir’s musical director since 2017. He has brought fun and precision to our singing and has introduced a more contemporary repertoire.
Richard originates from the Chicago area in the USA, but has spent most of his working life in Britain as a professional singer and conductor. He sings in the Winchester Cathedral choir. He has a keen interest in early music and is the artistic director of the ‘His Majesty’s Men’ vocal ensemble in which he sings as a Counter Tenor.
Brian Budden
Accompanist
Brian has a Music Degree as well as a P.G.C.E teaching qualification and in the past has taught music in secondary schools and keyboards in a Yamaha Music School in Huddersfield. He has been an accompanist for choirs and instrumentalists at music festivals and in concerts. He also now entertains/plays piano with some singing regularly in care homes and day centres across the South of England along with accompanying piano duties for 2 Male Voice Choirs (Romsey and Basingstoke)
Nick Thompson
Chairman
Nick has been the chairman of the choir since 2022. He sings in the Bass section but likes to remind us of his versatility when he sings solo parts.
Phil Jubin
Secretary
Phil is a long standing member of the choir having joined in 2004. He sings in the Baritone section and can be found behind the refreshments counter during the interval at most of our concerts.
