Visitors are most welcome, and who knows you may get hooked and become a Chorister.
We are always delighted to welcome new members.
The number of choristers singing with the choir has risen from humble beginnings to reach figures in the upper 60's. Whilst having the ability to read music would be a asset it is by no-means a requirement. Potential members are first given a period of about 6 to 8 weeks to become familiar with the choirs requirements and procedures whilst rehearsing within their particular section either Bass, Baritone, Second Tenor, or Top Tenor.
When you feel comfortable and any time of your choosing during this period, you decide that you would like to become a full member, a private audition with the Musical Director is arranged. This takes the form of singing scales and notes within your voice range and singing a solo part of a selected piece from within the choir's present repertoire. Following which the Membership Officer will submit your name to the next Executive Committee Meeting for confirmation of membership.
Although it sounds terribly formal be assured it is far from it.
For performances presented in Churches,School Halls etc., tickets are usually available from the Choir Ticket Office.
